Here is BJ playing Wynton Marsalis's new Next Generation RAJA XLT PLUS, just minutes before Dave headed to the airport to take the horn to NYC and deliver it to Wynton. This trumpet's sound at a distance of 400 feet (120 meters) is incredibly resonant, whether played loud or soft.

How one aligns their feet as they play is a direct indicator of how open their hips are, which immediately affects their ability to breathe freely and play down into the center of their equipment. Maynard Ferguson taught this! Aligned foot position allows the sound to fill out as a player breathes more effortlessly with and through their entire body. Feet splayed = tuning slide pulled out too far, playing high, tight, and bright.

Here is the great Manny Laureano with his new custom Unity mouthpiece! Those of you who have heard Monette videos of trumpet players at our shop have never heard anything like this before. This video demonstrates why trumpet players like our Unity mouthpieces. By the way, this is a LARGE mouthpiece… a C1-7 rim with a cup diameter and depth equivalent to a conventional 1C. Manny is playing his Monette C trumpet. This is the culmination of 3+ days of really intense work with Manny - both with metal and on the table. Our video content has been a bit sparse lately, and this is one of several reasons why... Lots of special projects in this 40th Anniversary year!
