Introducing the new MONETTE FIRST mouthpieces!
 
We are very excited to introduce two new additions to our mouthpiece line up: The MONETTE FIRST, and MONETTE FIRST LEAD.
 
So why are they called the MONETTE 'FIRST'? For two reasons:
  1. They are ideal for a trumpet player’s FIRST Monette mouthpiece.
  2. The outside shape of the mouthpiece is nearly identical to the FIRST Monette mouthpieces, like the ones that Wynton Marsalis and Charlie Schlueter played back in the mid-1980s. 
 
SIZES:
  • MONETTE FIRST (3C equivalent): The MONETTE FIRST is great for anyone, from a beginner to an advanced player, who likes a mouthpiece similar to the conventional 3C size.  The rim is the same as our very popular Unity B6-7, which former 3C players find to be much more comfortable than the traditional 3C rim. The MONETTE FIRST is a great all-around mouthpiece that is designed to have a fast, stable response and excellent intonation on conventional instruments. 
 
  • MONETTE FIRST LEAD (14A4a equivalent): The MONETTE FIRST LEAD is a fun companion to the MONETTE FIRST, and will work great for players who also need to do some lead trumpet work. This is especially well-suited for high school and college players who need to play lead in a big band or musical. The rim and cup will feel very comfortable for anyone who likes a conventional 13a4a, 14a4a, Bobby Shew Lead, or other common lead mouthpiece, and the rim contour is the same as our very popular DM6-L and DM6-LD sizes. It’s very easy and comfortable for extensive upper register playing, and the shallow cup helps with endurance, brilliance, and sizzle in the upper register.  Players who play the MONETTE FIRST will find the MONETTE FIRST LEAD to be very easy to switch to for lead work.

  • Monette mouthpieces are made-to-order and usually will not be available as ready-made stock. The standard estimated wait time to have a trumpet mouthpiece made is approximately 6-8 weeks. Unity mouthpieces for Bb and C trumpet are often available within a shorter wait time. Uncommon sizes can involve a longer wait time. The exact wait time is unpredictable, as it is affected by many variables. We cannot guarantee an exact completion date or shipping date in advance.
