With the overwhelming popularity of the Unity DM-4L and DM-4LD, the decision was made to adapt those mouthpieces to the slightly smaller '6' rim size and create the Unity DM-6L and Unity DM-6LD, so that players who are most comfortable on a conventional '3' rim diameter can enjoy the many benefits of the 'Dave Monette' lead mouthpieces and their extremely comfortable rims. Dave designed this rim to be the most comfortable trumpet mouthpiece rim he had ever felt. From the first notes, Dave said it was his favorite all-time rim contour. All of our co-workers and closest shop friends were equally impressed with how comfortable this rim feels -  almost like there is nothing on their lips as they play!
 
While the Unity DM-6L ("Lead" cup depth) and Unity DM-6LD ("Lead Deep" cup depth) work best for most players who need a shallow (L) or semi-shallow (LD) cup in the "6" rim size, we have developed an even shallower option in this size, for players who want an even brighter lead sound with LOTS of "zing." Despite it being quite shallow, the DM-6LS cup is contoured to play with a big, full, lead sound, and to provide plenty of room for the chops to prevent bottoming out.

Weight:
Many players will prefer the Unity DM-6LS in the extra-lightweight Unity body for the "zingy" sound and great feedback it provides. This size is also made in the lightweight Unity body, for players who prefer a bit more stability and a slightly thicker sound.
 
Plating & Finish:
Unity mouthpieces can be plated in 24k brushed gold or bright silver.
