Bb and A Piccolo Mouthpieces

These revolutionary mouthpieces are pitch-specific, meaning that an A piccolo mouthpiece is designed for use only on A piccolo, and a Bb piccolo mouthpiece is designed for use only on Bb piccolo. Our piccolo mouthpieces are available in all standard Monette rim and cup sizes. Note: We strongly suggest using the same size rim and cup on piccolo you would use when playing Bb , C, or Eb trumpet! Our constant-pitch-center designs offer such an improvement in the upper register that there is usually no longer any need to switch to a smaller cup size than you are otherwise used to when playing piccolo trumpet. When ordering, please specify AP for use on A piccolo, or BP for use on Bb piccolo. Available in both trumpet and cornet shank sizes.

Mouthpieces are listed from widest to narrowest inside rim diameters.

AP1-1, BP1-1

The largest piccolo mouthpiece we make, these models have the exact same rim and cup as our B1-1, C1-1 and E1-1. Used by Charles Schlueter, principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony.

AP1-2, BP1-2 With the same rim and cup size as our B1-2, C1-2, and E1-2, these models allow the player to produce a large, orchestral piccolo trumpet sound.

AP1-5, BP1-5

Designed for players who want the exact same rim as their B1-5, C1-5, or E1-5 series mouthpieces.

AP1-5L, BP1-5L

With the same rim and cup as our B1- 5L Bb lead trumpet mouthpiece, this model offers a large, full sound and a very easy upper register! This is very popular with players who use any Monette 1-5 series mouthpiece and prefer to keep the exact same rim when playing piccolo.

AP2, BP2

One of the most popular all-around piccolo mouthpieces we make. Great for all types of playing, with a full sound and an easy upper register. These models have exactly the same rim and cup as our very popular B2, C2, and E2 mouthpieces.

AP2L, BP2L

Great for playing upper register effortlessly, without sacrificing sound. These models have exactly the same rim and cup as our B2L Bb lead trumpet mouthpiece.

AP4, BP4

Designed for players who use our B4, C4 and E4 mouthpieces and who want the exact same rim and cup when playing a piccolo trumpet. These models offer a full, rich sound and easy, clean articulation.

AP4S, BP4S

With the same rim and cup as our popular B4S Bb trumpet mouthpiece, these models have slightly less "bite" on the inside rim than the straight AP4 and BP4, and are more comfortable for players who like a slightly softer rim feel still in the #4 rim size.

AP4L, BP4L

These mouthpieces are some of the most popular sizes we make, both with players who use larger rim sizes on lower-pitched instruments, and also for players who are used to using our B4, B4S, and B4L Bb trumpet mouthpieces. The upper register is very easy, and the sound is rich and sparkling.

AP5, BP5

This rim and cup design is the same as with our B5, C5, and E5 mouthpieces. This model rim and cup is used by both John Aley and Wynton Marsalis when they play piccolo trumpet. The cup is a "Vee" shape, and it is not particularly shallow. However, despite the cup depth, these mouthpieces are wonderful for use on piccolo, including upper-register work!

AP5L, BP5L

These mouthpieces are great for extreme upper-register playing. The BP5L has been used by several of our clients who perform Brandenburg Concerto #2. Both of these models have the exact same rim and cup as our popular B5L Bb lead trumpet mouthpiece.

AP6, BP6

These popular models make for a very easy transition for players who are used to using our B6 Bb trumpet mouthpiece.
