Made-To-Order
Monette mouthpieces are made-to-order and usually will not be available as ready-made stock. There almost always will be a wait time to have your mouthpiece made, unless the shop happens to have an available extra of the mouthpiece that you order. Expected wait times are listed below. The standard estimated wait time will vary from one kind of mouthpiece to another, and the actual wait time can vary widely, due to many factors. We cannot guarantee an exact completion date or shipping date.

The mouthpieces listed on our "New Old Stock" page are available for immediate shipping, without the normal wait time to have a mouthpiece made.
Wait Time
The wait time to have a mouthpiece made can vary greatly. Here are general wait time estimates:

Mouthpieces for Monette Instruments
Mouthpieces for Monette instruments are not sold through our online store and are only made by special, custom order. The estimated wait time for these is typically between 6 and 12 months.

Bb & C Trumpet Mouthpieces
The standard estimated wait time to have a common/popular Bb or C trumpet mouthpiece made is approximately 6 to 8 weeks. Uncommon sizes, vintage models, etc., are likely to take longer.

Other Kinds of High Brass Mouthpieces
Mouthpieces for cornet; flugelhorn; D & Eb trumpet; and piccolo trumpet are not made as often as Bb and C trumpet mouthpieces and typically involve a longer wait time. The standard estimated wait time for these mouthpieces is approximately 3 to 4 months.
Trombone Mouthpieces​
Trombone mouthpieces are generally made once or twice per year, and the wait time is estimated at approximately 6 to 12 months.

Tuba Mouthpieces
Mouthpieces for tuba are made approximately once per year. The wait time is estimated at approximately 12 months.

We ship mouthpieces via FedEx, both internationally and to US addresses.

P.O. Boxes
FedEx does not deliver to P.O. Boxes.

Rates
The standard shipping rates to send mouthpieces are:

Shipping Time
Once a mouthpiece has been completed and is being shipped from our shop, FedEx delivery to most locations will take 2-3 business days (non-holilday weekdays). International shipments can sometimes be delayed going through Customs.

For International Shipping:
The shipping charge for international shipping does not include any Duty, VAT, Customs fees, or any other taxes or fees that your government may impose upon you when you import an item from the United States. Government taxes and fees are sometimes collected by FedEx. We are not able to calculate these charges on your behalf, and there is nothing we can do to reduce or eliminate them.
Mouthpiece Shanks
If you notice any light insertion marks on the shank when you receive your mouthpiece, these are the result of it having been inserted into a gauge for precise measurement of post-plating shank size and insertion distance. Some mouthpieces are also play-tested by Dave Monette after plating, in order to guarantee that your mouthpiece plays perfectly after being plated, and meets our extremely stringent standards for response and pitch-center. Light insertion marks on the mouthpiece shank are the same kinds of marks that you will see after your mouthpiece has been inserted into your instrument’s receiver once or twice.
Return Policy
We generally are not able to provide returns or exchanges. If there is a mistake with your mouthpiece order, we can provide an exchange only if the mouthpiece is returned to us in unused, un-played condition. Inserting a mouthpiece into an instrument's mouthpiece receiver will create insertion marks on its shank and the mouthpiece will no longer be in unused condition.
