Monette Silver Series Mouthpieces
With a design that is more straightforward than that of other Monette mouthpieces, silver plating instead of gold, and limited size options, Silver Series mouthpieces are the most affordable mouthpieces we make. These are available in our five most popular rim sizes and offer a huge improvement in sound, ease, dynamic range, and intonation over any conventional mouthpiece. Put one of these in virtually any brand of trumpet and you will feel and hear how much easier trumpet playing should be! These were developed mainly for Bb trumpet, but will also provide significant improvements when used with C, D and even Eb trumpets.
The rim contours are nearly identical between the four sizes, and are based on the popular B6S1 and B2S3 rim and cup contours.
These mouthpieces are very forgiving for people who are new to Monette equipment and concepts. After progressing on a Monette Silver Series mouthpiece, a player may eventually need a specialized mouthpiece. For these players who need a dedicated mouthpiece for other keys of trumpet, a larger or deeper size for orchestral playing, or a mouthpiece specifically for lead trumpet, the next step is one of our modern Unity mouthpieces.
Silver Series Sizes:
- The largest mouthpiece in our Silver series is the Silver Monette 1. It has the same rim contour as the Silver Monette 2 and extremely popular B2 S3, but in a larger diameter. It compares to a conventional 1C size and is popular among orchestral players. For strong players looking for a bigger sound, players with thick lips, or anyone who is most comfortable on a larger mouthpiece size, this is a great choice with a much easier upper register than conventional large diameter mouthpieces.
- The Silver Monette 2 has the exact same rim diameter and cup as our very popular B2S3, and it compares to an old fashioned 1 1/4 C size. This mouthpiece is great for more advanced players who are used to a medium/large mouthpiece and are looking for a bigger sound and easier upper register, not to mention greatly improved intonation!
- The Silver Monette 4 compares to the extremely common 1-1/2 C size, and is a great step up for people who are beginning to outgrow (or out-BLOW!) a conventional 3C, 5C, or 7C-sized mouthpiece. The rim and cup profiles are based on our very popular B6 S1, but in this slightly larger diameter. This mouthpiece is great for all around playing.
- The Silver Monette 6 was the first Silver Series size we made available in November of 2011, and it compares to the common 3C size. It has the exact same rim and cup as our extremely popular B6S1, which is great for professionals who need an all-around mouthpiece in a small-ish size, beginners, come-back players and anyone who would otherwise be using conventional 7C, 5C or 3C sizes.
- The Silver Monette L is a lead trumpet mouthpiece designed to be just as forgiving and easy to play as the other Silver Series mouthpieces. The rim and cup is identical to our very popular MF III, and it is a great mouthpiece for lead trumpet, big band, and commercial playing. This size is excellent for players who prefer a fairly small rim size and shallow cup or who need a dedicated mouthpiece for lead trumpet playing.

Monette mouthpieces are made-to-order and usually will not be available as ready-made stock. The standard estimated wait time to have a trumpet mouthpiece made is approximately 6-8 weeks. Unity mouthpieces for Bb and C trumpet are often available within a shorter wait time. Uncommon sizes can involve a longer wait time. The exact wait time is unpredictable, as it is affected by many variables. We cannot guarantee an exact completion date or shipping date in advance.
